FAQs

FAQ 1: Language Policy & Proofreading (Regional vs. English)

Decision & Feasible Workflow: Articles are welcome in English as well as regional Indian languages (with special pride for Tamil, representing the host state). To overcome proofreading bottlenecks: (a) Contributors of regional language submissions are strongly encouraged to submit an accompanying English translation or a comprehensive English executive summary (150–200 words); (b) AI translation tools will be utilized strictly for preliminary editorial screening and cross-verification, preserving the original literary tone.

FAQ 2: Eligibility & Who Can Contribute?

Decision: Open to IPS Members, Post-Graduate Trainees in Psychiatry, and Immediate Family Members (spouses and children for literary/art sections). Preference is accorded to registered IPS delegates.

FAQ 3: Submission Deadline & Print Schedule

Decision: Final Submission Cutoff is 30th November 2026. This allows the Editorial and Designing teams 4 weeks for peer screening, layout styling, proof corrections, advertiser alignment, and test prints before dispatching for final press run in late December 2026.

FAQ 4: Accepted File Formats & Maximum Sizes

Decision: (a) Text Articles/Poems: MS Word (.doc, .docx) preferred; max 15 MB. (b) Art/Photography: High-resolution JPEG/PNG/TIFF, minimum 300 DPI; max 25 MB per image. (c) Advertisements: Press-ready Vector PDF or TIFF/PSD with embedded CMYK fonts/curves; max 50 MB. (d) Multimedia/Reels: Vertical MP4/MOV; max 100 MB (or Google Drive/Cloud Link).

FAQ 5: Maximum Number of Contributions per Person

Decision: Primary limit is ONE main submission per author. More submissions (e.g., an article + a creative poem/photo) and publications will be subject strictly to section availability and committee discretion.

FAQ 6: Are there prizes or awards planned for souvenir contributions?

Yes. To recognize creativity and scholarly expression across our community, we have instituted prize money worth ₹50,000/- in total to be awarded across selected top contributions:

  • Poetry (Words that heal, inspire, and connect)
  • Photography (Moments that capture the human story)
  • Creative Video (Short films, ideas, and new perspectives)
  • Children of IPS Members (Young minds, bright ideas)
  • Open Creative Contribution (Articles, essays, artwork, humour, and more)
